I recently read aloud Cory Doctorow's Picks and Shovels to my boys (17 & 15 !!). They loved it. It was our introduction to Martin "Marty" Hench, a great character. Last night, lying in bed, after reading a few chapters of Red Team Blues featuring an older Marty, that the character is a 'hearty mensch', and increasingly wry with age.
